At least 125 killed, over 100 injured in Bahawalpur oil tanker fire

An oil tanker exploded minutes after it overturned near Bahawalpur in Punjab, leaving at least 125 people dead on Sunday morning, according to Express News.

Over 100 people, including 20 children, were injuries when they reportedly gathered to collect leaking oil from the lorry in Ahmed Pur Sharqia area. Forty people sustained severe burn wounds and are in critical condition.

Rescue operation is underway and the injured are being shifted to the District Headquarters Hospital and other healthcare facilities in the adjoining cities.

Army chief General Qamar Javed Bajwa expressed his grief over the deadly incident. He directed full assistance to the civil administration to carry out rescue operation.
